Still in search of a home following the cataclysmic events of The Croods, overprotective prehistoric patriarch Grug leads his family into the great unknown. As the world becomes more treacherous, all Grug can do is hope for the best while grappling with the budding romance between Eep and Guy.
Their journey comes full circle when they stumble into a hidden Eden replete with all that they had been looking for. Unfortunately, this lush paradise is already populated by the far more civilized and advanced family of the Betterman's: Phil, Hope, and their daughter Dawn.
Just as things are about to heat up between the two families, a greater threat appears to upset both families. Will the Croods and the Bettermans be able to put aside their differences, work together against the common enemy, and fight for survival?
